ReaderWriterNotes allows you to post your formal and informal writings. This way, you will be able to understand the connection between reading and writing.

Formal Post or Entry

Under formal post, you will summarize and comment on the week's assigned reading. Please feel free to share the most inspiring, provocative, and interesting ideas found in the assigned reading. Make sure to include your interpretation of the author's voice and style. Feel free to select any reading if one is not assigned. Make sure to indicate the source (author's name, article title, magazine or excerpt, page number or print media)

Informal Post or Entry

In the informal post forum, be prepared to share your response to the popular culture that permeates our society. Think about commercials, ads, newspaper, magazines, blogs, shopping podcasts, iTunes, iPods, TV, film, Internet, billboards, readio etc. Please make sure to indicate which forum you are using (always write the the type of forum). By writing regularly in the informal post forum, you will generate ideas which you can use later. In this forum, you can jot down ideas and reactions to your observation, reflection, meditations. You can write about your reactions to TV shows, speeches, surfing the Web, discovery, book reviews etc.

First Assignment:

Consider the following media elements: videogames, magazines, tv shoes, CDs, ads, photographs, posters, billboards, theater playbills, Web. Write about the role of media in your own life and environment. See some ReaderWriter Analytics: media elements to get you started.
